Helping magicians grow in both their close-up and stage performance skills remains one of the club’s central goals. To that end interested participants submit their twelve to fifteen minute audition videos prior to April 1, 2024 with both close-up and stage semi-finals held as part of our two-hour Monday Night Magic on Monday, June 17, 2024.
The final competition will be held in October.
With a panel of judges from the UNO Theater Department, their feedback proves invaluable in taking the entrant’s performance to the next level.
The judges’ score sheet has been based on the club’s Performance Feedback Form. You may download a copy of that form HERE and request more detailed information about the application and scoring process by using the button below.
Both the close-up and stage inlaid wood display boxes and wands with 24 karat gold plated tips have been handcrafted from finished Bloodwood by Tony Karpinski.
Designed to be proudly exhibited in the winners’ homes, these first place trophies also display the winner's names on engraved nameplates.
Thank you OMS member Gary Gates for financially sponsoring these trophies.
At the age of 98, Pete (pictured here with his wife Babe) serves as the Dean of our club and our oldest member.
We named this competition in honor of the impact he’s had on the growth of the interest in magic for multiple decades throughout the Omaha area. More than a few of our current members trace their initial interest in magic directly back to Pete’s influence.
