Housed on the campus of the University of Nebraska Omaha, the OMS Magic Research Library contains 1200 books and pamphlets available for access to researchers and club members.
Click HERE to download and read the story about the library and its donation as reported by The Omaha World Herald.
Since it is a research library (as opposed to a lending library), books in the collection cannot be checked out but must remain in the rare books' reading room on the lower level of the UNO library (6401 University Drive North in Omaha, Nebraska). Access the reading room policies HERE.
If you call 402.554.6046, the help desk at the library also stands ready to help you search online for the book you want.
Watch too for special announcements throughout the year of Treasure Hunts to the library for smaller groups searching for new ideas focused around a specific genre of magic (i.e. coins, cards, mentalism, performance finesse, etc.).
Monday through Friday hours are 9-5 for walk-ins and by appointment on the weekends and evenings (staff permitting). Weekend appointments can be made by calling 402.554.6046 or by using the button below.
You do not need to indicate the books you wish to see prior to going to the library.
DO REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR CAMERA!
TAKING PICTURES OF PAGES IN THE BOOKS IS ENCOURAGED.
